Itziar Ortiz de Landazuri
One of the founding members of Company of Dreams, Basque born Itziar is a passionate dancer with a pure, joyful classical Egyptian style and great sensitivity to music. She performs regularly on the London dance scene and has danced on stage with some of the greatest names in international bellydance.
Itziar also performs with contemporary classical music ensemble Sounds Positive in a unique collaboration between contemporary classical music and bellydance. Contemporary composer Avril Anderson composed a short suite of music for her and she regularly performs with classical flautist Simon Desorgher, most notably in the remarkable colour installation, Colourscape, where she improvises with Simon and other musicians from Sounds Positive.
In recent years Itziar has become increasingly interested in theatrical bellydance. She has been a principal dancer in all of the Company of Dreams theatrical productions, as well as taking a leading role in Ozgen’s Ask/Love. She is currently studying acting at the Actor’s Centre in London.
